Welcome to my site.
My name is Renee Ann Drouin, and I am a doctoral candidate of Rhetoric and Writing at Bowling Green State University. I am an instructor of first-year composition, intermediate writing, digital cultures, and video game studies.
My research interests include video games, feminist and digital rhetorics, research methods and ethics, and writing center pedagogy.
I am currently working on my dissertation project, “Fans are Going to See it Any Way They Want”: The Rhetorics of the Voltron: Legendary Defender Fandom The case study questions what the rhetorics of harassment used by queer folk and straight women are and how they differ from previously established patterns of harassment. My dissertation utilizes a mixed-methods approach and debates how to perform social media research ethically.
This portfolio includes additional details and materials about my research and pedagogy, including my CV, course syllabi and assignments, and comments on my major research projects.
